Daisy & Dandelion has developed a workshop series specifically targeted at market stall holders. The workshops are small facilitated discussion groups that have between ten and fifteen participants and meet once a week in Kambah. The format of the workshop allows each participant to tap into the knowledge, experiences and ideas of the group as well as benefit from the peer support and contacts they make which carries on long after the workshop has ended. The next series of stallholder workshops will be the Online Marketing for Market Stallholders which will be held from 26 August to 21 October. The topics covered include: Before the market: Marketing on a shoestringAt this workshop we will focus on what you can do before the market to encourage people to visit your stand. We will look at strategies like pre-market promotions, PR, collaborative marketing and developing a word-of-mouth marketing campaign. We will also look at how you can take all these ideas and put them into a marketing system that's easy to use.At the market: Your stand as your store
This workshop is about converting browsers to buyers and we will focus on your stand as your store, stand layout, creating the right atmosphere, at-market promotions, customer service and managing expectations. Pricing StrategiesIt can be very difficult to price the time and attention you pour into your handmade items. We will look at some of the ways you can determine the price of your products, including value-based pricing, loss-leaders, the special order, wholesale pricing and selling on consignment.Social media as part of your marketing planThere's lots of talk about social media tools like Facebook, Twitter, blogging and You Tube and how you can use these free tools to grow your business. In this workshop we will look at whether these are suitable for your business, the basics of setting up some of these tools and how you can build a social media marketing plan. What can you expect from the workshops?Daisy & Dandelion's style of learning is very different from a school or classroom set up. School is all about tests, and notetaking and meeting assessment criteria. Daisy & Dandelion is about learning. It's about introducing new concepts and aha! moments that allow you to look at your business differently and then move on to implement it. Daisy & Dandelion is also about accountability and helping small businesses get over the "failure to implement" hurdle that holds so many of them back. We achieve this by:
Where: Theiss Cottage, Reynell, Place, Kambah. Testimonials"I found the peer-based learning was fabulous. It was great to hear how other stall holders did things, and Candice facilitated these discussions really well. I would highly recommend the workshops to any market stall holders. I wish I could have done them all, but had to pick and choose due to family committments" - Michelle Williams, www.poppybeanandbloss.com.au "Everything! Totally worthwhile. Really well-run I loved that the notes were emailed to us so we could listen without writing all the time. Candice was very supportive and got us to think through our problems and come up with our own solutions. Empowering." - Jen Leheny www.jenleheny.com, www.redinstead.com.au "Everything! I learnt so many things during this workshop. Every Wednesday I'd be eagerly anticipating what the evening's workshop would bring. Always I leave buzzing with new ideas - cost effective and practical to apply to my small business. From the very first night I got some great ideas. The workshops gave me the ideas, motivation and incentive to get lots of things done. In six weeks I organised a banner, business cards, a stand to hang my art and a new website. I thoroughly recommend them" - Rebecca Vavic, www.rebeccavavic.com "Meeting other stallholders was a definite plus. Feedback from peers was helpful" - Melanie Swan www.melanieswandesigns.com "Relaxed. It helps you get your head in focus as to what you are doing in terms of your business. Especially as a 'market person' I find we have a tendency to fall from one market into another. This enabled me to believe in myself more as a business and think more as a future and worth planning ahead. I really liked the format, the interaction, sharing of ideas and feedback" - Vivienne Seedsman, www.bluemallee.com.au |
